Search Test Cases, Cycles, and Plans Skills

These skills let you find test cases, test cycles, and test plans in Zephyr by entering part of an item's name or key into Rovo chat. It is useful when you only know roughly what an item is called or remember part of its key, but do not want to open Zephyr and browse or filter manually.

What this skill does

When prompted, the agent performs the following actions:

  • Searches the specified Jira space for test cases, test cycles, or test plans whose name or key contains the text you provided.

  • Matches partial and case-insensitive text, so you do not need the exact name or key.

  • Displays results as a numbered list of 10 items at a time, with each item linked directly to its record in Zephyr.

  • Lets you ask for more results without repeating the search, until all matches are shown.

How to use it

Ask Rovo to search, and include the following:

  1. The Jira space key, for example, DEMO. If you do not provide one, and it is not already clear from the Jira space you are working in, the agent asks you for it.

  2. What you are searching for: test cases, test cycles, or test plans. If the type is ambiguous, the agent asks which one you mean.

  3. A search term: part of a name or key. If you do not provide one, the agent asks you for it.

Example prompts

  • "Find test cases in DEMO with 'login' in the name"

  • "Search QA project for test cycle 'Sprint 12 Regression'"

  • "Look up test plans about the checkout release in the PAY project"

  • "Search for test case TC-T45 in DEMO"

Each item shows the record's key, followed by its name, linked to the corresponding test case, test cycle, or test plan in Zephyr.

Getting more results

If there are more than ten matches, the agent tells you the total number found and offers to show more. Ask for more, for example, "show more" or "next 10", and the agent continues the list from where it left off, keeping the numbering continuous.

You do not need to repeat your search. The agent keeps track of what it has already shown until all matches are displayed.

When no matches are found

If nothing matches your search term in the specified project, the agent tells you and suggests trying a different name, key, or project.

Notes and limitations

  • Search is scoped to a single Jira space per request. To search another space, start a new request with that space's key.

  • Matching is based on name and key only. It does not search test steps, descriptions, or other fields.

  • Test execution search is not currently supported. You can search test cases, test cycles, and test plans, but not individual test executions.

  • As with other Zephyr Agent for Rovo skills, only the capabilities described here are supported. Questions outside this scope might return partial or no results.
